Funding
Research has demonstrated that music therapy can lower the necessary dosage of medication, decrease the perception of pain, optomize and contribute to efficient neural rehabilitation, decrease the overall length of hospital stays and lower overall healthcare costs for consumers and healthcare providers. Because music therapy is cost-effective and research-based, it allows for reimbursement through the government by programs such as Medicaid, Medicare and in some cases private insurance.

Medicaid CES Waiver

The Medicaid Children's Extensive Support (CES) waiver covers children and adolsecents under the age of 18, with developmental disabilities to recieve therapy services in the state of Colorado, if they meet eligibility requirements.
Medicaid SLS Waiver
The Medicaid Supported Living Services (SLS) Waiver covers adults, over the age of 18, who have significant developmental disabilities, and require a high level of care, to recieve therapy services in the state of Colorado.
Private Insurance
Ascent Music Therapy does not currently accept insurance, but many private insurance companies will cover music therapy services when prescribed by a physician or deemed necessary through a music therapy assessment.
Although, we are currently unable to accept insurance, we hope to in the future and are happy to provide support and assistance in submitting receipts for reimbursement privately.
